Book Your Treatment

Profhilo is one of the most effective skin rejuvenation treatments available — a highly concentrated hyaluronic acid injectable that hydrates deeply, stimulates collagen and elastin, and improves the overall quality and firmness of the skin. It is not a filler.

What Is Profhilo?

Profhilo is an injectable treatment containing one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available in any injectable product. Unlike dermal fillers, it doesn't add volume or structure — instead, it works by spreading through the skin tissue and stimulating four types of collagen and elastin.

The result is a fundamental improvement in skin quality: better hydration, improved firmness, reduced laxity, and a healthier, more radiant complexion. Skin that looks tired, thin, or lacking elasticity responds particularly well.

Profhilo is especially suited to:

  • The face (particularly mid-face and under-eye area)
  • The neck
  • The hands

It is CE-marked and widely regarded as one of the safest and most effective skin quality treatments currently available.

How Does Profhilo Work?

Standard hyaluronic acid fillers are cross-linked (chemically bonded) to stay in place and add volume. Profhilo uses a different formulation — it is thermally bonded, producing a product that flows and spreads through tissue rather than staying localised.

This spreading effect means it can reach a much wider area from a small number of injection points — typically five on each side of the face (the BAP protocol). As it disperses, it interacts with skin cells at a deep level, stimulating collagen types I, III, and IV, as well as elastin.

The biological outcome: the skin starts producing more of its own structural proteins. Firmness, elasticity, and hydration improve — not through something being added, but through the skin's own regenerative capacity being activated.

Who Is It For?

Profhilo is suited to people who:

  • Notice their skin lacks brightness, firmness, or hydration
  • Have skin laxity — particularly around the mid-face, cheeks, jawline, or neck
  • Are looking for a natural approach to skin quality improvement rather than volume or filler
  • Want a treatment that complements (or precedes) other injectables
  • Are in their 30s–60s and noticing the beginning of skin quality decline

It is suitable for most skin types and tones. It works well as a standalone treatment and combines very effectively with anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers.

Profhilo is not suitable if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have an active skin infection or inflammation in the treatment area
  • Have a known allergy to hyaluronic acid or gram-positive bacterial proteins
  • Have autoimmune conditions that may be affected by the treatment

Treatment Protocol

Profhilo is delivered in a series of two sessions, spaced 4 weeks apart. This is the standard protocol and important — a single session will produce some improvement, but the full remodelling effect requires both treatments.

After the initial course:

  • A maintenance session every 6 months is recommended to sustain results
  • Some patients opt for an annual course of two sessions

What to Expect

Before Your Treatment

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications and alcohol for 24 hours beforehand if possible
  • Arrive with a clean face
  • Disclose any recent aesthetic treatments — particularly recent filler — to your doctor

During Your Treatment

Using the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) protocol, your doctor will place a small number of precise injections at defined anatomical points. This minimises injection sites while maximising distribution. The treatment takes approximately 30–45 minutes in total, including assessment and aftercare advice.

You may notice small blebs (bumps) at injection sites immediately after. These resolve within a few hours.

After Your Treatment

  • Avoid touching or pressing the treated area for 6–8 hours
  • Avoid exercise, excessive heat, and alcohol for 24 hours
  • Avoid facials, massage, and other skin treatments in the area for 1 week
  • Mild redness or swelling at injection points is normal and resolves quickly

When Will I See Results?

Subtle improvements in hydration and skin quality begin within 1–2 weeks of your first session. The full bioremodelling effect — collagen and elastin stimulation — develops over 4–8 weeks. Optimal results are typically visible 3–4 weeks after your second session (i.e. approximately 7 weeks after starting treatment).

How Long Do Results Last?

Results typically last 6–9 months from the completion of the two-session course. A maintenance session every 6 months is recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Skin boosters (like polynucleotides) and Profhilo are both injectables that improve skin quality, but they work differently. Profhilo uses a high concentration of thermally bonded hyaluronic acid that spreads through tissue and stimulates structural proteins. Dermal fillers are cross-linked and stay localised to add volume. The goals and mechanisms are distinct.

The standard course is two sessions, 4 weeks apart. Maintenance every 6 months is recommended to sustain results.

No — Profhilo is not a volumising treatment. It improves skin quality, hydration, and firmness, but it will not add structure or projection. If volume is your goal, dermal fillers are more appropriate.

Yes — the neck is one of the most popular areas for Profhilo. Skin laxity, fine horizontal lines, and dullness in the neck area respond very well to treatment.

Yes. Profhilo is frequently combined with anti-wrinkle injections and fillers as part of a broader treatment plan. Your doctor will advise on sequencing.

Injection discomfort is mild. The number of injection points is deliberately limited by the BAP protocol. Most patients find it very manageable.

Both are skin quality treatments, but they work through different mechanisms. Profhilo uses hyaluronic acid to stimulate collagen and elastin while providing deep hydration. Polynucleotides use purified DNA fragments to stimulate cellular regeneration at a deeper level. They can be used in sequence or as part of a combined plan. Your doctor can discuss which is more appropriate for your skin concerns.

No — Profhilo is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Some improvement in hydration and skin texture is noticeable after the first session. The full remodelling effect requires both sessions in the protocol.

Yes. It is CE-marked, clinically well-studied, and has an excellent safety profile when administered by a qualified practitioner. Because it uses hyaluronic acid — a substance naturally present in the body — the risk of adverse reaction is low.
